 MCArtists is an electronic discussion list for artists working in Montgomery County, Maryland. Artists of all kinds (craft artists, fine artists, jewelry artists, photographers, potters, textile artists, etc.), as well as those involved in promoting the arts, are welcome. It is a place to discuss show/exhibition opportunities, suppliers, the jurying process, tax and business issues, and just about anything else that pertains to artists, showing, selling, or the issues involved. It is a networking forum for local area artists.

MCArtists was formed as a result of a bunch of artists talking at a recent show. We realized that there are a lot of us in the area, who have a lot of resources, but no forum in which to share them. We decided that the internet provided the perfect platform for such a forum. Because I had experience with starting electronic forums, I was elected to the task. This list is the result.

We invite all area artists to join us in cyberspace. We all have a lot to learn from each other.
